The Southampton police were being anti-racist (admittedly a crime in AE parlance) and Nowak died because of police inaction.

Lets suppose the Police called an ambulance at the first mention, without further verification of the stabbing, which was clearly not obvious to them, as the blade had penetrated so deeply, that the blood was pooling inside his chest cavity, rather than soaking his clothes immediately.

Are you saying that would have saved the victim..........?

Nobody would survive that wound, according to the pathologist, but even if they might, it would have meant that the ambulance arrived 3 minutes earlier.......

I hadn't been keeping abreast of the details but I was assuming something like this had happened. From what you say, I can't see the police did anything wrong at all. You don't normally consider the possibility of a stabbing being involved when turning up to a street altercation.

Are you saying that would have saved the victim..........?

I have no idea. All I was saying is that it was the police's inaction (in not sending him off to hospital rather than sorting out a crime incident) that seems to be at the heart of the political kerfuffle. All this is in stark contrast to the George Floyd case.

Nobody would survive that wound, according to the pathologist, but even if they might, it would have meant that the ambulance arrived 3 minutes earlier.......

This is why I am amazed anyone would think this to be of ongoing national importance. An Indian nutter going round stabbing people to death would be, but only in a one-day-wonder sort of way.

It is being casually assumed that if Andy Burnham wins the Makerfield by-election and launches a leadership bid against Keir Starmer, he will win easily in a vote of Labour MP's. This may not be so. Here's the relevant timeline.

2015 An organisation called Labour Common Good is formed by John Clarke
2017 It is rebranded Labour Together by John Cruddas MP and Morgan McSweeney
2018 McSweeney hooks up with Keir Starmer
2019 Labour lose general election badly
2020 Jeremy Corbyn replaced as leader by Keir Starmer
2021 McSweeney appointed 'head of campaigns', giving him power to influence the choice of parliamentary candidates
2022 Liz Truss disaster puts Labour miles ahead in the polls
2023 McSweeney manoeuvres 'two hundred' trusted people into now winnable seats
2024 Labour landslide, the 'two hundred' are now MP's
2025 Starmer is such a disaster Labour is miles behind in the polls
2026 Andy Burnham launches his campaign to oust Starmer.

You all remember George Robertson. Labour MP, Defence Secretary, Secretary-General of NATO, now his Lordship. Someone well worth listening to when it comes to the defence estimates currently being murmured about about by Labour MP's. You have to up 'em, he tells them. No choice.

Why's that, George?
Because of the danger of a missile attack from Russia.

You mean a nuclear attack?
No, we've got that covered. A conventional strike.

What, a few tons of TNT landing on us?
You've got it. Ask Ukraine what that's like.

A building gets demolished. An old lady goes to hospital, that sort of thing?
They've got a lot of missiles.

And why us?
I dunno but it could happen.

If you want the full, terrifying story of how the Labour Right got rid of Corbynism, it's spelled out in a riveting four-hour Al-Jazeera series called The Labour Files available on YouTube. If the conspirators weren't in charge of the security services at the moment, they'd all be in gaol.

I've been following the Californian gubernatorial race on your behalf (I'm not charging you for it) and I couldn't help thinking the name of the candidate who won the Republican primary was somehow familiar. Steve Hilton. Probably a Silicon Valley billionaire or something.

It was only today when the dude popped up in person on CNN, armed with a British accent, that I remembered he was David Cameron's so-called 'director of strategy' (i.e. eminence grise). I do recall now he skulked off to California when his services were no longer required but I didn't think he would ever fall this far.

The Al-Jazeera piece definitely soft-pedals the Momentum side of things. The difference between the two sets of entryists was that the Hard Left always uses legal but democratically outrageous stunts while the Right (who guessed you would ever have to be an entryist from the centre!) were guilty of downright and vicious skullduggery.

I never thought I would have to chide Leninists for being too gentlemanly.

The most notable feature of the Northern Irish anti-migrant riots is how few people are involved. I keep hearing the number 'a few hundred'. As riots go, this is pretty small beer. However, the truth is that it only takes a few hundred people running amok to garner national (and, pace Al-Jazeera, international) attention, such is the rarity of these outbreaks in normally calm countries like ours.

I couldn't help noticing either that the rioters are Protestant to a man. It has been remarked upon. This is highly significant. On the mainland riots tend to be either northern-white 'working class' or anywhere-blacks i.e. lumpens. The state then uses a mix of face-recognition software, internet postings and rough justice to round up whoever they can and hand out stiff prison sentences to send a message. This seems to do the trick.

Whether the Ulster authorities will do the same with northern white Protestants remains to be seen.

The workmen taking Trump's name off the Kennedy Center, following a court order to do so, insisted a tarpaulin be erected so they could complete the work free from prying eyes.

Whose prying eyes? President Trump's of course. He will order the Department of Justice to indict whoever they were on a string of criminal charges. Plus they were undocumented Haitian migrants.

"It will prove to the doubters at home and abroad that British forces can still pull off operations like this."

This was said on Channel Four News yesterday re the boarding in the English Channel of a Cameroonian-flagged tanker crewed by a mixture of Georgians and Indians by an all-arms force of abseiling Royal Marines and supporting units in a considerable show of force. But let us not be too hasty with the hosannas. One or two relevant matters have to be considered first.

* A man in a launch wearing a peaked cap armed with a megaphone would likely have achieved the same result. The captain and officers of a ship sailing in somebody else's territorial waters would be committing an imprisonable offence not obeying his commands. If it is the territorial waters of a country with one of the largest navies in the world the ship would be well advised to do this.

* The tanker was one of five hundred such vessels on a British list of the so-called Russian 'shadow fleet'. These ships have been plying their doubtful trade for several years, ever since 'sanctions' were imposed on Russia following its invasion of Ukraine. Most have sailed through British waters at some time or another, yet not a single one has ever been intercepted by the Royal Navy. (Though the British have assisted other navies to do so.)

* The event took place a few days after the Defence Secretary resigned, complaining that British armed forces did not have the financial resources to carry out their myriad functions. Thereby causing something of a political crisis for Prime Minister, Keir Starmer.

* The event took place a few weeks before a major conference in Ankara to discuss, it is understood, whether NATO countries are doing enough re Russia/ Ukraine.

Poor old Keir Starmer. Poor old Palestine Action. Just as everyone thought peace and harmony could reign once more when the judges pointed out the obvious i.e. Palestine Action is as terroristic as Big Ears and Noddy, the Court of Appeal has weighed in with a different verdict. Palestinian Action is as terroristic as Al-Qaeda.

This threw a different light on the dozens of elderly flower-arrangers from Market Harborough (o.n.o.) sitting outside the court holding placards. When they arrived they had been peaceful protestors. After the verdict, they were aiding and abetting terrorism, and had to be carried off--a policeman at either end--to durance vile. 'Look out, sarge, she's got a Liberty's shoulder bag, could be a suicide bomber.'

And it seemed such a good idea when that nice Yvette Cooper popped Palestine Action in with a couple of fascist outfits on 'the list'. If you are reading this, and doing nothing about it, you're a terrorist too.

"It will prove to the doubters at home and abroad that British forces can still pull off operations like this."

This required lots of planning.

"The PM has advised me that we are authorised to stop and board a "Dark Fleet" Tanker"

"If I might say so this will need to be fully risk assessed, it is highly dangerous flying a Chinnok at low altitudes"

"Thanks Sally, we will need to invite Bertram in for the next meeting"

" If the carrier sinks we will have a eco distaster, should we invite Ed in for a view"

"Good point Horatio, note to invite in Ed"

"The French will be need to be on board, its their channel too."

"Thanks Abigail , I will contact Yvette to see who the FO can get"

"Can I just add that the Attourney General has insisted that any operation must be conducted strictly in accordance with International, and Domestic laws"

"Quite Siddiq, we are not the baddies here"

" Yes bur it good go wrong, there are losts of foreign crew on board, they are low paid, its not fault that they have had to get a job, on an non unionised carrier"

"Excellent point Siddiq, our Marines will need full training in Human and European rights, we wouldnt want to sued. Perhaps we could get guidance from the AG, after all that was a speciality of his, taking our boys, who served in Iraq, to court for breaches"

"Anything else"

"Might I suggest involving Nick from PR to film all this, if we can pull it off"

"Great, Lets get in Nick. "

.................

"OK we are all agreed, that this carrier is unique, its totally unlike the previous 200 Dark Fleet ships that have all sailed through." "I will let the PM know, he will be very pleased" ""Thanks All" "Anything else"

"Will we need someone from the armed forces, to check they have the resources"

"Why yes....I suppose we will have to inform them out of courtesy, does anyone know who is running Defence these days"
