Doncha just hate it when some player you hate turns out to the greatest thing since sliced baloney? It's happened to me not once, but twice. Odegaard and Kavertz. If only they were a firm of solicitors.

Seahawks 13-10 Patriots

The Patriots benefited from a easy schedule last year, that allowed them to win many games, and reach the Superbowl, what it didnt give them was the toughness to win, against good teams, from behind.

Drake simply cant throw interceptions when it gets tough.

They will remain a wonderful team against second class opposition.

against second class opposition

That would mean reaching the play-offs. Most fans would settle for that. But you're right, it isn't just West Ham who have had their bubble burst.

Eternal Supremacy syndrome has hit the Goonerverse. This occurs whenever your side has a run of success -- as will invariably happen from time to time. One of two things will happen:

1. Unaccustomed triumph will result in foreboding. 'What goes up must come down' etc. People like that are only happy when the omens are good but the triumph never arrives.

2. 'It's the New Jerusalem' etc. People like that are in for a rude awakening. It's the last place anybody should want to live in.

No. The correct attitude is 'eternal supremacy syndrome'. That way, should one be cast from one's pedestal, like next season for instance, you can start on conspiracy theories. Of course, as an AE-ist I am not permitted conspiracy theories but don't worry I'll come up with something more profound. Structural even.

Not that I've seen anything new about this New Arsenal everyone's going on about. They look like last season's Arsenal to me. And the season before that. We might be threepeaters or we might return to beings serial bridesmaids, it's all the same to me. As long as we're not midtable.
