The dressing gown was miles too small to fit round my waist and the trousers were slightly too large for my waist. How is this possible when they are both XL? I am not complaining--I am delighted by both for the price--just interested.
Kind regards Mick Harper

Dear Mick,
Thank you for your message. Regarding the sizing, you're absolutely right to notice the difference. Sizes like XL can vary slightly from brand to brand, which is why we include a detailed size chart with every item. This helps customers compare the exact measurements and choose the best fit based on their preferences. If you ever have any questions about sizing in the future, feel free to reach out—we’re always happy to help!
Kind regards, Oliver

I do not think Oliver has quite grasped the scale of the problem but he was prompt and affable which counts for a lot in this day and age. That is all for now on this matter.

Apparently my reconditioned Amstrad is not big enough to run Windows Eleven. It looks plenty big enough to me, but I suppose they know best when it comes to the innards.

Apparently Windows Ten is not going to receive 'free support' after October so, Microsoft implores me, I should buy a whole new computer. Yessir, no sir, three bags full, sir. So I can join the Windows Eleven community who are being driven to distraction by bugs? I expect.

I prefer to buy the cart in my own time, Bill, and drive your horses to the glue factory. I'm man enough to shrug off being pointed to in the street. "See that bloke? He's still on Windows Ten." "There should be a government scheme."

And what's all this about free support? I was under the impression I was paying you guys monthly as it is. So will I not have to after October? Or pay a bit extra for those excitingly hortatory '30% done, do not turn off your computer" events that brighten up my day?

I need advice but the only people I know are software engineers and they're the last people you turn to when you've got a software problem. They're all busy alpha-testing Windows Twelve.

My local council (in their wisdom) send me small sums from time to time. I don't object to that, nor would I bother you with news of it. But the way they tell me tells you quite a lot about local authority bureaucracies. (Small x's are mine, large ones theirs.)

When a new Big News topic starts flooding your screens and you recognise it is of the type that won't go away in a hurry, you have to make a decision:

A. take an interest and add another few hours to your daily grind trying to keep up or
B. decide on a self-denying ordinance and resolutely fast forward every time it raises its ugly head.

You must on no account fall between the two stools. That's what everyone does. You'll end up wasting acres of your time and losing the plot. I decided on the careful ignoral policy, for example, when AI first started hitting us from every angle. I haven't repented of the decision.

That was easy. AI is so-o-o boring. I've decided to do the same with Musk/Trump which isn't.
