The Southampton police were being anti-racist (admittedly a crime in AE parlance) and Nowak died because of police inaction.
Lets suppose the Police called an ambulance at the first mention, without further verification of the stabbing, which was clearly not obvious to them, as the blade had penetrated so deeply, that the blood was pooling inside his chest cavity, rather than soaking his clothes immediately. |
I hadn't been keeping abreast of the details but I was assuming something like this had happened. From what you say, I can't see the police did anything wrong at all. You don't normally consider the possibility of a stabbing being involved when turning up to a street altercation.
| Are you saying that would have saved the victim..........? |
I have no idea. All I was saying is that it was the police's inaction (in not sending him off to hospital rather than sorting out a crime incident) that seems to be at the heart of the political kerfuffle. All this is in stark contrast to the George Floyd case.
| Nobody would survive that wound, according to the pathologist, but even if they might, it would have meant that the ambulance arrived 3 minutes earlier....... |
This is why I am amazed anyone would think this to be of ongoing national importance. An Indian nutter going round stabbing people to death would be, but only in a one-day-wonder sort of way.
